My wife and sister made cheese today. Sis took the whey home after canning it. I thought I would show it to you. Looks like lemonade, doesn’t it?
I wasn’t involved in the process but it looked pretty straightforward. This is similar to what they did, though they added 1/4 cup of vinegar to 2 gallons of milk to help it curd more. They made both mozzarella and ricotta.
Anybody out there making cheese? Soft cheese or hard?
Making the cheese looked like fun. At one stage they even pulled it like taffy. They came, they worked, they picked it all up and left. I felt like a character in the Little Red Hen. I didn’t help and I didn’t get any bread (cheese). Hey, it was my house! I even mentioned how few carbs are in mozzarella. Hint, Hint. I did get to enjoy the kids while their mom’s were working.
You act like I was involved or something. I think sis took the ricotta with her anyway.
I’m sure there will be a next time.
